Head of the Snaga Domovine (Homeland Strength) Movement, Ahmed Husagic told N1 that the number of voters in this year’s October general elections will be twice as high as last year and that the number of pro-Bosnian voters, after preventing manipulations, will be three times higher than in the previous elections.
“We did a voter registration campaign across European countries. The best results were shown by Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands, essentially all those countries where a large number of people originating from BiH live. This is the first half. The second half begins in about 20 days when the election campaign begins. People who registered to vote by mail showed their patriotism and their desire to contribute to a better BiH,” Husagic pointed out adding that those who failed to register by July 20 have the opportunity to come to Bosnia on election day and come out to vote.
Husagic also commented on the new way of registering to vote outside of BiH.
“Due to the new system introduced by the Central Election Commission (CEC), many people found it difficult to deal with some technical matters, however, with this new system, manipulations we had in previous years were avoided. The registration method that is now programmed is new and more complicated than it used to be,” he said.
When asked whether he thinks there will be a higher voter turnout than during the last elections, Husagic pointed out that based on the numbers they currently have, he can conclude that the number of voters has doubled, adding that by preventing manipulations, they came to the information “that the number of pro-Bosnian voters will be three times higher compared to the previous elections.”
