Accounts of Una TV in Serbian banks, as well as those of some employees of the media house, have been blocked, presumably due to the fact that the company which founded this television station appeared on the list of individuals and enterprises under US sanctions for their connection with the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
Representatives of Una World, the company listed as the founder of Una TV in Serbia, did not provide any official information or comment on this news to Nova.rs. However, a review of the National Bank of Serbia's register shows that the blockade occurred on June 25, 2024. An unofficial confirmation of this news was obtained among employees, but Una TV leaders remained silent on questions about the blockade.
The website of the Serbian Business Registers Agency reveals that Una World d.o.o is a subsidiary of Una World Network d.o.o, a company from Banja Luka, whose owner is “Infinity Media,” also from Banja Luka.
Both “Una World Network” and “Infinity Media” are on the list of individuals and companies recently published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury, sanctioned for their ties with Milorad Dodik, President of the Republic of Srpska, and his son Igor.
According to OFAC's statement, they are part of a network that provides “significant sources of revenue” for Milorad Dodik and his family.
Added to the list in June, according to OFAC, were Milenko Cicic and Djordje Djuric, along with the companies “Infinity International Group” Banja Luka, “Infinity Media,” “K-2 Audio Services,” “Kaldera Company,” “Prointer ITSS,” “Sirius 2010,” and “Una World Network.”
As OFAC states, and Slobodna Evropa reports, Cicic is the director of “Kaldera,” while Djuric owns “Infinity” and its subsidiaries.
Milorad Dodik has been under US sanctions previously, as well as his son Igor and daughter Gorica. OFAC highlights that Milorad Dodik “used his official position to amass personal wealth through companies associated with him and Igor Dodik.”
According to OFAC, Milorad Dodik used his official position to direct RS Government contracts to a network of private companies he and his son Igor control.
“While Igor controls many companies in this network, he conceals his personal connection to them by relying on various nominal owners and directors,” the statement explains.
