After Zoran Cegar, the head of the Uniformed Police Department of FBiH Police Administration, threatened journalists from the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIN) in Bosnia, the US Embassy in Sarajevo called on authorities to “protect all journalists from harassment and attacks and ensure they are able to report the truth.”

“We urge the authorities to protect all journalists from harassment and attacks and ensure they are able to report the truth. Freedom of the press is essential to free, democratic societies,” the US Embassy posted on Twitter and retweeted the statement of the BH Journalists Association regarding the incident.
CIN journalists contacted Cegar to ask him how he acquired property worth millions of euros in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. However, the official refused to speak about it and threatened them.

“Don't even think of calling me again, don't make me find you,” he said.

Meanwhile, the FBiH Police Administration has initiated an internal investigation into Cegar's activities and the FBiH Interior Minister requested his suspension.
