A total of 47 films in four categories will compete for the Heart of Sarajevo awards at the 27th Sarajevo Film Festival, the festival management confirmed on Thursday.

The Festival’s four competition sections – for feature, documentary, short, and student film – will feature 18 world, three international, one European, 24 regional, and one Bosnian film premieres.

SFF Selection team lead by Creative Director Izeta Gradjevic has seen 683 films submitted for the competition this year, including 135 feature fiction films, 153 documentaries, 245 short, and 150 student titles.

The programme includes films and filmmakers from Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey.

This year's SFF will take place from August 13 through August 20.

All films that will be screened at several locations in Sarajevo will also be available on an online platform.
