During a meeting with members of Canton Sarajevo Government, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) confirmed their readiness to provide loans for 1st and 9th bypass projects in the amount of EUR 38 million.
EBRD representatives said the bank is ready to approve a loan worth EUR 35 million for construction of the 1st bypass which includes a tunnel near “Kobilja Glava” and a junction between the tunnel and the main road. The Bank will also provide EUR 3 million for a roundabout at the 9th bypass – junction with Lot 2C.
Canton Sarajevo Prime minister Adem Zolj, Cantonal Transport Minister Mujo Fiso and the authorized representative of the Cantonal Road Directorate Emir Hot, spoke with Head of the EBRD Office representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Ian Brown and his associates about the continuation of capital infrastructure projects in Canton Sarajevo.
Interlocutors concluded that the Bank will soon send a proposal of the mandate letter for the said funds after which the Government will initiate a procedure for an urgent re-balance of this year's budget.
EBRD representatives were also familiarized with the competent Ministry's plans regarding the reconstruction of the tram railways and purchase of several new trams and trolleybuses for the public transportation company.
Canton Sarajevo's Government should soon discuss the plans in the form of proposals. EBRD representatives expressed interest for participation in this project and readiness to provide technical support for its implementation.
