SDP's Lazovic: Erdogan may have achieved his goal

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may have achieved his goal with the visit to Sarajevo but the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and its leader Bakir Izetbegovic did not, said Vice President of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Miro Lazovic.

“The visit of President Erdogan alone triggered the enormous attention of not only public but of media and citizens as well. I believe the attention was exaggerated after the visit, and that the visit didn't result in what was it prepared for, which is a mass political parade that would serve to the Justice and Development Party and SDA,” Lazovic told N1, adding that Erdogan may have achieved the goal because he addressed his voters.

According to Lazovic, the only specific contribution of the visit was the opening of the Haematology Ward at the Sarajevo Clinical Centre, which the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Turkey financed with EUR three million.

Lazovic does not see any major problem with the rally that Erdogan held in the Bosnia's capital, but the Bosnia's Presidency, in his opinion, should have a political stance on the organizing of such rallies in the country.
