The British Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina said the Bosnian Constitution is perfectly clear and that Bosnia is an integral, sovereign country consisting of two entities.
The statement comes after the Republika Srpska (RS) entity President Milorad Dodik held a lecture at the Belgrade Faculty of Political Sciences in which he said that the RS and Serbia should be one country by the end of the century.

He said the RS is a state according to the elements of international qualifications, dating back to the 1933 Montevideo Convention which states the basic elements of a state.
“Many countries exist today based on those elements. Only the RS is denied international recognition, but that doesn’t mean we should give up,” Dodik said.
On the other hand, the British Embassy told N1 that Bosnian entities, the Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have significant competencies but they are not sovereign states.
“They do not have the right to secession and they exist legally only within the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina. There will be no new map-drawing of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the British Embassy told N1.
Dodik also said that the British approved some GBP 9 million (around EUR 10 million) this year, to prevent the Russian influence in the Balkans.
“This year, the United Kingdom plans to spend BGP 7.5 million (around EUR 8.5 million) for our work with different levels of government in Bosnia, including a big cooperation program with the RS Government in order to support Bosnia in achieving the European standards in key sectors, including the economy, justice and security,” the Embassy said.
