The Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS) will host the “10th BHAAAS Days,” June 21-24, at Jahorina, a mountain next to Sarajevo. The gathering will host the most prominent professors, doctors of science, scientists and artists from across the world who will take part in 27 scientific symposiums.

Thus, one of the most significant academic organisations of the Bosnian Diaspora, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, will host over 300 lecturers, prominent doctors of sciences, medical doctors, academics, renowned scholars and artists who will take part in symposiums from the fields of medical, technical, natural, social and humanist sciences.

BHAAAS is a nonprofit and non-political American organization that brings together highly-trained professionals from the most respected American educational institutions and companies, with around 230 regular, correspondent or honorary members. This is an internationally affirmed institution, whose mission is to spread and develop science and art, free sharing of ideas among the Bosnian diaspora, and to connect and collaborate with Bosnian scientists and artists for the purpose of building bridges with the homeland.

The main purpose of the ‘Days of BHAAAS’ is to connect the diaspora and Bosnia and Herzegovina through science, art and culture and we’ve definitely achieved this mission. We’ve built strong bridges between Bosnia and the US and with the countries of the region and the entire world,” said Head of BHAAAS Nirvana Pistoljevic. “We’ve become big and honestly, it is difficult to find a city in Bosnia which could host as big an event as this one. I can proudly say the Jahorina conference will be the biggest yet.”

This year's program aims to make the conference one of the biggest cultural events in the region. The conference will host an exhibition of one of the biggest Bosnian painters Safet Zec, as well as a theatre play titled The Book of My Life, which is a theatrical adaptation of the autobiographical collection of short stories by writer Alexander Hemon. The conference will also host a concert of the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra and an exhibition titled “Memories of the rock.”
