Bosnia’s Grand Mufti Husein Kavazovic congratulated the upcoming Eid al-Fitr saying the month of Ramadan showed that without sacrifice, one cannot achieve great results. The days ahead should be used to strengthen one’s faith.
“It is with joy that we welcome Eir al-Fitr. We have shown, once again, that we can achieve any goal we set before us when we’re aided by the strength of our faith. Great goals cannot be reached without sacrifice,” Kavazovic said. “During the month of Ramadan, we’ve searched for God’s mercy and forgiveness, we’ve shown solidarity with the poor, and we broke fast in brotherly and family atmosphere. The presence of the faithful is proof of the existence of faith amongst our people.”
“I hope our unity in faith will be copied into our everyday lives. May the traces of Ramadan be seen in the days ahead. Strengthen your faith, don’t be discouraged and be persistent in your good deeds.”
Kavazovic recalled that the second day of Eid is the Shahid Day (Day of the martyrs).
“The second day of Eid is marked as the Shahid Day. The day when we remember those who laid their lives for this country. God, we ask of you to protect our land as you do all other lands on this world. I wish a happy Eid al-Fitr to all Muslims. May we spend this great holiday with our family, friends and neighbours. Eid Mubarak,” Kavazovic said.
