The Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (NUNS) on Thursday condemned as shameful and groundless the attack on investigative journalist Dino Jahic by Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik.

“The NUNS feels that Dodik’s public offensive attack on the editor in chief of the Serbian Centre for Investigative Journalism (CINS) is the most direct pressure on freedom of journalists and the media which also endangers Dino Jahic and his co-workers,” the association said in a statement. NUNS is the founder of the CINS.

Dodik, President of the RS, Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity, attacked Jahic at an August 21 news conference, accusing him of running CINS with the financial support of international organizations to topple political structures in the region. That attack came after an article titled Dirty Dealings by Soros Instructor on the Infosrpska.ba portal which alleged that CINS received 38 million Dollars from foreign funds to develop investigative journalism in the region.
