Kosovo abolished import tariffs on milk from Bosnia

The Kosovo government abolished all import tariffs on milk and dairy products from Bosnia. This decision is in line with the CEFTA free trade principles, said Bosnia’s Foreign Trade Minister Mirko Sarovic.

Bosnia's Foreign Trade Ministry said that this decision is of great importance for the dairy industry because Kosovo is one of Bosnia’s most significant export markets.

“Import tariffs are no longer applied to our dairy exporters,” Minister Sarovic stressed and added that the abolition of Pristina's earlier tariffs is the result of the common approach by the CEFTA (Central European Free Trade Agreement) member states and the ministerial meeting in Belgrade, attended by ministers from Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro.

After the Belgrade meeting, the Kosovo government first partially abolished tariffs on certain fruit, vegetable and corn imports, after which the CEFTA countries requested a complete abolition of tariffs. The ministers concluded that tariffs were damaging to the CEFTA free trade zone and the entrepreneurs from these countries.
