Bosnia’s Foreign Minister Igor Crnadak met on Monday with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s invitation to Crnadak is a confirmation of good relations between Bosnia and Israel and a confirmation of Netanyahu’s attitudes stated in his letter to Minister Crnadak, sent May last year,” Foreign Ministry said.

The Ministry said the letter stipulates that the behaviour of the Republika Srpska entity representative office in Israel will not ruin the excellent relations with Israel. Netanyahu also expressed readiness to further improve and strengthen the dialogue and cooperation between Israel and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Serb-dominated entity Republika Srpska opened a representative office in Israel several years ago to represent the interests of this entity in Israel. However, several TV stations discovered that the office was not being used at all, and they later reported on several controversies concerning the office, to which even Israeli authorities had to respond and distance themselves from this office.

During the meeting, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu informed Crnadak of Israel’s most significant achievements in the fields of agriculture, cyber security, healthcare, IT and called for improvement of cooperation in the said fields where Israel plays a major role.

The two also discussed security issues and the fight against terrorism, ISIS and the issue of foreign fighters.

At the end of the visit, Minister Crnadak handed Netanyahu a book by a Nobel prize winner Ivo Andric “The Bridge on the Drina” translated in English.

According to Bosnia Foreign Ministry’s announcement, after his visit to Israel, Crnadak will pay an official visit to the Palestinian state.
