The youngest officers of the Army of Serbia were promoted in Belgrade, and 131 cadets of Serbia's Military Academy and the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy (VMA) were promoted to the rank of second lieutenant.
One hundred and two cadets of the Military Academy were promoted to the rank of second lieutenant, including two cadets from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as one cadet from Bosnia’s Republika Srpska entity Interior Ministry, along with 29 cadets of the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy.
Addressing the youngest officers of the Army of Serbia, Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic said that they are the guardians of honour of the Army of Serbia and that their force is a deterring factor for those who would like to bring Serbia into conflicts.
“By choosing to be members of the Army of Serbia, you have shown that the spirit of freedom of our ancestors is in your hearts. I am proud to stand in front of all of you who decided to protect the freedom and independence of your country through your knowledge, skills and power. We believe in you, Serbia believes in you,” said Vucic.
The Serbian President also told the new lieutenants that “no task is as important as defending their country.”
