The US Congress had approved the holding of the 2020 Regional Prayer Breakfast in Mostar, the media in the southern Bosnian city have said, adding that Congressman Robert Aderholt has notified the city authorities by letter.
In the letter to Mostar businessman Dalibor Milos, who will organise the breakfast, Aderholt says he is pleased local officials have supported the initiative dedicated to reconciliation, renewing co-existence and progress.
We hope the 2020 Regional Prayer Breakfast will inspire citizens, the country, the Western Balkans and the whole world, the letter says.
Milos, who attended the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington last year, has said the event in Mostar will be a big opportunity for the city and that it is “something necessary to Mostar, to the strengthening of togetherness and respect and love for the diversities in our Bosnia and Herzegovina, necessary to the strengthening of cooperation in the whole region.”
He expects between 400 and 500 foreign guests at the meeting, including many US and European Union officials as well as representatives of all countries in southeast and central Europe.
