Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, has postponed his initially scheduled visit to Bosnia and will arrive in that country on September 21, Bosnia's Foreign Minister, Igor Crnadak, confirmed on Thursday.
Crnadak told media he talked to the Russian counterpart, who postponed the visit due to unexpected changes in his schedule
According to the initial plan, Lavrov was to travel to the Bosnian capital and the city of Banja Luka, the seat of the institutions of Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity, Republika Srpska (RS).
The changes in the schedule of Russia's senior official were also confirmed by the RS President, Milorad Dodik, who met Governor of Saint Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko.
“He won't come on Monday but Friday, September 21. The reason is being busy with state affairs. We respect the fact that Lavrov wants to come to Banja Luka, it's geostrategically important, and we understand the postponement,” said Dodik.
