Over the last four years, Bosnia’s Employment Agency recorded some 100,000 newly employed persons in the country. Of this number, some 70,000 were employed in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity, while the rest was employed in the Republika Srpska (RS) entity and the District of Brcko.

“We have a positive market growth trend. The number of unemployed was decreased by almost 100,000, which is the same number of the newly employed persons in the country. Now we have some 805,000 employed in Bosnia,” Head of Bosnia’s Labour and Employment Agency Muamer Bandic told N1. “In 2014 this number was 704,000, but currently, we have some 400,000 unemployed in the country. This means that 100,000 people were employed in our market.”

According to him, more than 70,000 were employed in the FBiH, while the rest were employed in the RS and the Brcko District.

Bandic claims that the number can be easily checked and that his agency is getting these data from the state and entity statistical institute. As evidence to his claims he also stated that the pension, healthcare and disability fund had increased its revenues over the past four years.
