The mother of David Dragicevic, a young man whose murder remains unresolved since March this year, has lit a candle for her son in a central cathedral of Bosnia's north-western town Banja Luka on Monday.
After the police banned gatherings of support for the parents seeking justice for their murdered son, Suzana Radanovic, the mother, said she could not go out in streets in order to avoid arrests.
“I came here to light a candle for my child. This is not a gathering. They banned the gatherings. I invited no one, they will arrest me as soon as I go out in street,” she said.
In a press release issued on Sunday, police said some of the participants of the Sunday protest did not respect legal obligations and committed various offences.
Police detained a few protesters and blamed the members of the Justice for David group for disrupting a concert that was supposed to take place Sunday evening in Banja Luka central square.
Davor Dragicevic, the young man's father and organiser of the protest, was unavailable to police and, according to his lawyer, has not been seen since Sunday morning.
“I am worried because I have since yesterday morning not heard from Davor and I don't know where he is,” said Ifet Feraget, the lawyer.
Radanovic knew nothing about his whereabouts either. She said she heard he was arrested but that she did not know whom to believe anymore.
Police issued warrants for six people including Dragicevic, under suspicion, they said, of committing the criminal offences on Sunday.
