Three policemen have saved an 83-year-old woman from drowning in the Sava river in the northern Bosnian town of Gradiska.
Policemen Miroslav Ristic, Branislav Zagorac and Radisa Spasic saved an 83-year-old woman from drowning in the Sava river, on Sunday afternoon. Their selfless act of courage was commended by the semi-autonomous Republika Srpska entity Interior Minister Dragan Lukac who stressed that they sacrificed their own lives to save the woman.
“As police officers, you have shown not only speed, efficiency and skill in carrying out your duties, but also great humanity and self-sacrifice in saving human lives, bearing in mind all the circumstances of the event itself and the weather conditions. Your heroic act is commendable and speaks best about all aspects of the police profession,” Lukac said.
