Bosnia's State Court confirmed Monday the indictment against wartime Bosnian army general Ramiz Drekovic under the charges of committing the war crimes against civilians during the 1992-95 Bosnian war.

According to the indictment, Drekovic is charged with breaching the Geneva Convention on Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

Drekovic acted as the Commander of then Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina's 4th Corps at the time when the alleged crimes were committed.

The indictment that Bosnia's State Prosecutor's Office issued in late December 2018 says Drekovic is charged with issuing “a direct, classified order in spring 1995 to artillery unity covering the broader territory of the (southern) Konjic municipality to conduct non-selective shelling of Kalinovik village, inhabited by the Serb population.”

According to prosecutors, a 15-year-old was killed in one of those shellings during the months of May and June 1995, while several children and adults suffered either slight or severe injuries.
