The cantonal court in the northwestern Bosnian town of Bihac confirmed indictment against former mayor and four more persons on bribery charges, the Prosecutor's Office of the Una-Sana Canton said on Tuesday.
Emdzad Galijasevic is suspected along with four former cantonal and municipal officials of joining together and committing a series of criminal offences including the abuse of power and taking the bribe.
“They are suspected of planning to grant the investor ‘Agraminvest’ a municipal construction lot which belongs to ‘Komrad Bihac’ public utility services company by joining together and acting within the framework of their competencies,” said the cantonal prosecution.
According to the indictment, Galijasevic and his accomplices acted contrary to interests of the public utility services company and the Municipality of Bihac while providing the benefit of 555,500 marks (approx €284,000) to ‘Agraminvest’ investor.
