The European Commission gave a green light to Bosnia to start exporting its chicken meat into the EU, by placing it on the list of countries which can export this type of meat into the EU during their last session, Bosnia’s Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Ministry told Srna news agency.

They noted that the State Veterinary Office will make a registry of all the companies that will export the meat into the EU.

The Audit Team of the EU’s Health and Food Safety Directorate-General stayed in Bosnia and Herzegovina from September 26 to October 6, 2018, and made a preliminary report giving a positive opinion on the export of chicken meat to the EU.

The report also recommended that meat must be checked after the slaughter, as well, which was immediately implemented by the State Veterinary Office and the local exporters.
