Famed Finnish ski-jumper Matti Nykaenen, dubbed as one of the heroes of the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympic Games died on Sunday at the age of 55.
Nykaenen was considered to be one of the world's best ski-jumpers of all times, having won five Olympic medals, of which four were gold, and nine world championships
During the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo, the Finnish ski-jumper won one gold and one silver medal, setting new 90-meter hill record of that time at the Igman Olympic Jumps.
“The skis are a little scissored but it doesn't bother him, and right there he is almost kissing his ski tips as he goes past the critical point into a landing,” a sports commentator said in a live broadcast of the event.
Nykaenen was the only ski-jumper who won all five top competitions in this sports.
