Authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina are currently not taking any measures to transfer back to the country its two citizens who are allegedly staying in a Kurdish-run camp in the north of Syria, according to Foreign Affairs Minister Igor Crnadak.

Speaking for N1, the minister announced that a team formed of the representatives of the Foreign Ministry, Security Ministry and other institutions would be closely following the situation with Bosnian nationals in Syria.

Crnadak also confirmed that institutions had information about three women originating from Bosnia were on the occupied territory of Syria but in order to provide them with a travel document to send them back to the country, they should be located on the free part of the territory.

“At this moment no activity is underway. I haven't discussed this with any of the US representatives, I don't know anything about that. The ministry is monitoring the situation and maintaining contact with the Red Cross and the UN agencies,” said the minister.

Bosnian media carried in February this year a letter from three Bosnians in which they cry for help. Four years ago they departed to the part of Syria controlled by so-called Islamic State but now wish to return to their homes.

“The three of us, Bosnian nationals, ask Bosnia and Herzegovina to take back both us and our children to the normal life we used to live,” they wrote in the letter.

Reportedly, two Bosnian men are also among the captured soldiers of the Syrian terrorist organisations. According to available information, two men Ibro Cufurovic and Armin Curt are detained in the Roj camp along with a German national originating from Bosnia.
