The Sarajevo-born filmmaker who is close to Bosnia’s pro-Russian Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik, Emir Kusturica, denied the claims that he is paid for being Dodik’s adviser.

After many media outlets criticised Bosnia's tripartite Presidency members for not publishing the names of their advisers, the Serb member released the list of names of his advisers, which also named Kusturica as one of them.

Dodik thus fulfilled his pre-election promise to employ Kusturica as his associate.

The media said that according to Bosnia’s Law on Salaries in State institutions, Kusturica’s salary was some € 1,000.

However, speaking to N1, Kusturica said he became a “volunteer adviser” to Milorad Dodik, and that he receives no reimbursements for this function.
