Federica Mogherini, the European Union High Representative unveiled a mural by Bosnian artist Rikardo Druskic which he dedicated to the peoples of the Western Balkans, the Beta news agency reported.

The EU along with the Balkan Trafik Festival and the City of Brussels supported Druskic's work.

It will become a part of the popular Brussels’ Street Art Parcours.

The mural, titled “It is only with the heart that one can see well,” aims to call on people throughout the region “to look at each other with open hearts and without prejudice.”

The presentation was a part of the EU – Western Balkans Cultural week organised by the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels to honour the shared European identity and strong cultural ties between the EU and the Western Balkans.

“I believe that this remarkable piece of art brings the Balkans to where it belongs, which is at the heart of Europe. It now depends on us, both with our member states and the authorities of the Balkan countries, to bring all the Balkans into the European Union,” Mogherini said at the ceremony.

She added she was convinced “that today, compared to five years ago – we started with our mandate four and a half years ago – our six partners in the Western Balkans are closer to the European Union.”
