Sarajevo: EBRD annual meeting officially opens

The long-awaited annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) commenced on Tuesday in the Bosnian capital in presence of top officials, investors and entrepreneurs from the country, region and the world.

In the next three days, Sarajevo will host 3,000 representatives of the international business community, investors, senior government officials, EBRD governors and civil society organisations.

Over 40 discussions within the event will focus on various topics from the work of small and mid-sized enterprises, digitalisation and migration effects to green cities.

Bosnia will present its potentials and strategic industry at a session ‘Invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Invest in profitable projects’ taking place on Thursday in the Parliament building.

Since regional cooperation is crucial for economic development and stability in this part of Europe, the key issues in the Western Balkans will be on the agenda of the regional leaders’ meeting set to take place on Wednesday.
