Bosnia’s Presidency members invited Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to visit Sarajevo in a Friday meeting with Turkey’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Bekir Pakdemirli.
The meeting came after Erdogan and the Chairman of the Presidency, Bosnian Serb Milorad Dodik, recently signed a revised Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade highway project, which Turkey is supporting.

Dodik and his Bosniak collage, Sefik Dzaferovic, participated in the meeting with Pakdemirli, while the Croat Presidency member, Sefik Dzaferovic, was represented by his advisor, Slaven Kovacevic.
According to a press release by the Bosnian Presidency, the relations between Bosnia and Turkey are “very successful and friendly in all areas” and there are no outstanding issues between the countries.
It said, however, that there is space for further improving those relations and more possibilities for investing in the economy and agriculture sectors, as well as improving trade.
Turkey is an important trade partner, and the good relations between the two countries should be maintained, the press release said, adding that participants in the meeting proposed to intensify economic cooperation between Turkey and Bosnia “through participation at business forums, but also through direct contact between businesspeople.”
