According to the first incomplete results of Sunday's election for the European Parliament released by the State Election Commission at 11 p.m., the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) won 23.21percent of the vote, which translates into five seats in the EP.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) slate won 18.36 percent of the vote and three seats.
One seat each was won by the Sovereignists with 8.29 percent of the vote, the Independent Slate of Mislav Kolakusic with 7.67 percent, Human Shield with 5.81percent and the Amsterdam Coalition with 5.62 percent of the vote.
The data was obtained from 89.69 percent of polling stations at which 83.71 percent of the ballots (914,664) was counted.
