Slovenia arrests Bosnian ex-police commissioner on Interpol notice

Interpol notified Bosnia on Tuesday that Slovenia has detained the former Police Commissioner of Bosnia’s northwestern Una-Sana Canton (USK) whom Bosnia’s State Court sentenced to 11 years in prison for organised crime in Bosnia.

Ramo Brkic fled the country on February 27, 2016, after being sentenced for abusing his position and being part of a drug trafficking group.

Per Bosnia’s request, Interpol issued a warrant when he failed to show up at several hearings in a trial against him and two more suspects, one of which was a judge.

Slovenian Border Police arrested Brkic on Saturday.
