Sarajevo Canton to get a police helicopter

"There is a long-standing need for a helicopter and, in addition to serving Interior Ministry's operative needs it will also serve civilian needs, like during search and rescue missions, assisting the population in the event of natural disasters, fires, floods, earthquakes, support for medical interventions and other serious situations,” Katica said, adding that during the procurement procedure, they plan to conduct a staff training and retraining who will then make up the helicopter unit consisting of two eight-man teams.
The helicopter procurement was one of the measures agreed upon by the six majority parties in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.
