Sarajevo Film Festival has for another year boosted tourism in the country, bringing thousands of foreign guests to the Bosnian capital.

No doubt, Sarajevo is one of the most attractive destinations in Europe these days. With overbooked hotels, tourists were in search of accommodation even in private apartments.

Unlike in previous years, the length of their stay extended to several days.

“People are very nice here, the food is great, you have very good music and your culture is incredible. I really like it,” a German tourist told N1's reporter.

“I knew about the Olympic Games which were held here, but this city is so much photogenic. This is actually a mix of all the things I love. Oh yes, and food. The food is phenomenal. I'm a big fan,” said a visitor from Austria.

“Oh it is beautiful, everything is so beautiful. The people, the city, everything. Let me not forget the wine and food, what else can I add but that everything is amazing here,” said an Italian guest.

The 25th Sarajevo Film Festival which opened the last Friday and will end tomorrow has also attracted many guests from other Bosnian towns. They enjoy the festival atmosphere and everything that the city offers.

“I always feel nice in Sarajevo but there is a special festival euphoria here these days and some special value. But it is always nice.”

“It is great. We were in Mostar, the city is cool and now we're here. We will be back again, we're thinking about what to buy here.”

It has become a rule that visitors are more and more often taking tourist guides to explore the city. They have different demand and interests.

“The number (of tourists) has increased regardless of the Sarajevo Film Festival. Every year we have 20 percent more tourists and we're becoming a mass tourism destination, not the classic one, which is interesting,” said Zijad Jusufovic, a local tourist guide.

The guests are mostly amazed by how the city looks today after the turbulent period from the end of the last century.

“Among thousands of destinations to explore, they return here to explore more,” said Jusufovic.
