Bosnian and Turkish officials agreed to continue the export of beef to Turkey during the ratification period of the Free Trade Agreement so that Bosnian producers do not suffer losses while waiting.
The agreement was reached between Bosnia’s Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Minister Mirko Sarovic and Turkey’s Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli on Wednesday in Ankara.
“The export of beef will be continued until the end of the year. Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to export 3,000 tons of boneless meat, with which we will remove the stagnation in realising this arrangement,” Sarovic said after the meeting.
Turkey is one of Bosnia’s most important foreign trade partners and the yearly trade between the two countries is worth about 700 million US Dollars.
