Bosnia was ranked 58th on the list of 157 countries according to the World Bank's Human Capital Index introduced in 2018, said participants of Monday's workshop titled Federation entity's Development Strategy 2021-2027.
Bosnia achieved a worse score than its neighbours in terms of the average number of years of formal education (9.7 years) which is 1.5 years less than in Serbia and Croatia.
The Human Capital Index measures the level of human capital a child can achieve by the time it reaches 18 years of age, considering the risks of bad health and bad education in the country.
The workshop participants stated that education has a positive impact on labour market outcomes and that it has a positive impact on individuals, employers, economy and society as a whole.
