Bosnia and Herzegovina's southern city of Mostar was recognised as one of the top travel destinations by National Geographic, which has published recommendations for 2020.

Of 25 destinations across the world, Mostar found its place among the cities such as Italy's Parma, Philadelphia in the US, the Czech town of Telc and others.

In the brief city's description, National Geographic wrote that Mostar still bears scars of the past, and that one will pass “newly renovated apartments next to buildings riddled with bullet holes” while walking down its streets.
