The Government of Bosnia's Federation (FBiH) entity passed a decision on Friday on the dismissal of the supervisory and steering boards in the 'Pazaric' home for mentally disabled persons, following an affair involving the shocking photographs of inadequate treatment of the children there.

The Government also tasked the competent Ministry of Labor and Social Policy to start a procedure of dismissal of the centre's manager.

The decision comes a day after the first in a series of protests that citizens announced in front of the Government's seat in Sarajevo, after lawmaker Sabina Cudic unveiled the photos showing the children in the ‘Pazaric’ centre tied to beds and other pieces of furniture, which, according to her, caused them injuries and serious deterioration of their mental health.

The Government expressed a firm commitment to appoint new management in this institution, which would consist of professional and adequately trained staff.

Meanwhile, Sarajevo Canton Interior Ministry's officers entered the premises of the ‘Pazaric’ centre to investigate the allegations about the ongoing situation.

“We're carrying out certain activities in the ‘Pazaric’ centre, under the direct supervision and instructions of Sarajevo Canton's Prosecutor's Office,” ministry's spokesperson Mirza Hadziabdic told N1.
