After North Korea, Bosnia is the second country in the world when it comes to the number of pollution-related deaths, the British Ambassador Matthew Field said for N1 on Thursday, adding that he is well aware of people's concern for their own and the health of their families.

Field sated two urgent problems when it comes to the pollution in Sarajevo and other Bosnian cities: the public transportation system and energy efficiency, noting that all public buildings should be energy efficient.

Speaking about the UK's presence in EUFOR – the EU's peacekeeping mission in Bosnia, he said he expects his country to continue to have an active role in the force, even after the Brexit because it is in the interest of the UK to be part of this multi-national force.

Speaking about his impressions of Bosnia, he noted that one of his personal goals is to introduce Bosnia to as many Brittons as possible because Bosnia is not well known in the UK.

“They must see this country because it's fantastic – it has a huge potential as a skiing destination. We, Britons, don't have mountains but we love skiing. Sarajevo has not only Jahorina and Bjelasnica but also the Ravna planina mountain. This is an Olympic city. It offers many opportunities for adrenaline sports, nature and rafting,” Field noted.
