A barbarian act that occurred this month during the manifestation marking the 75th anniversary of the WWII liberation of Mostar demands condemnation and the adequate reaction of authorities, the Embassy of Russia said on Monday.
The statement comes two days after the incident when a group of still unidentified persons attacked several thousands of anti-fascists who arrived in Bosnia's southern city to mark the 75th anniversary of Mostar's liberation from fascism.
No injuries were reported on that day.
“We find very concerning the fact that today, in the year when we all mark the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory over Nazism in Europe, such neo-Nazi incidents happen in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the cradle of anti-fascist partisan movement in the Western Balkans,” the Embassy said, calling on “all progressive forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina, international organisations and international community” to fight together against neo-Nazism and neo-fascist movement.
