Bosnia's Foreign Ministry issued recommendations to all citizens planning to travel to Italy to temporarily postpone their trips, due to the latest coronavirus outbreak in that country.

The ministry also advised all Bosnian nationals returning from Italy to immediately report to the closest healthcare institutions upon their arrival.

“Foreign Affairs ministry is closely following the situation and communicating with diplomatic-consular offices of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the coronavirus spread in Europe and the world,” said the statement.

Italian authorities have announced sweeping closures in the country's north as they scramble to contain Europe's biggest outbreak of the novel coronavirus, CNN reported.

Italy's confirmed cases surged from three on Friday morning to more than 200 by Monday, with seven reported deaths caused by the virus.

Bosnia's Foreign Ministry urged all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina currently staying in Italy to follow the recommendations of Italy's healthcare authorities and to provide Bosnian competent authorities with detailed information on the place and length of their stay in Italy upon the return to Bosnia.
