Bosnia’s northeastern city of Tuzla is not only one of the main industrial strongholds in the country but also the home of Europe’s only salt lake, located only a short walk away from the city centre.
Tuzla has been famous for the massive salt deposits under the city for centuries. It even got its name from the Ottoman word for ‘salt-mine.’
