Bosnian state police apprehended six persons and seized two and a half kilo of drugs in an operation codenamed Sky, aimed at breaking the group smuggling drugs from Albania, via Montenegro and Bosnia to the European Union (EU), the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina said on Tuesday.
Acting upon the warrant issued by the Prosecutor's Office, the officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency conducted raids at four locations in Bosnia and arrested six suspects.
The arrests come months after two other police operations that were carried out in the area of Istocno Sarajevo and near the border crossings Gradiska (north) and Capljina (south), when police seized several hundreds of kilos of drugs intended for EU market.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, ‘Sky’ operation was conducted in successful cooperation of law enforcement agencies in Bosnia as well as international agencies.
