The epidemiological situation is under control despite a rise in the number of persons infected with coronavirus, Alen Seranic, the Health Minister of Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity, said on Sunday.

Twenty-one people have so far tested positive for the novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, 18 in the Serb entity and three in the Bosniak-Croat half of the country, the Federation (FBiH).

Considering developments in Europe, the Bosnian authorities are expecting more positive cases in the country.

All patients diagnosed with coronavirus are well and no one's life is in danger, Seranic said.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has banned the entry of citizens of Italy, South Korea, China, France, Germany and Spain, and the status of citizens of other countries depends on the region they come from and their health.

No specific restrictions have been imposed on citizens of Croatia for now.
