The measures imposed by the FBiH Administration for Civil Protection on Tuesday must be implemented by all lower-level governments as of 6 am the next day.

The order came after Bosnia’s Council of Ministers declared a state of disaster in the country because of the danger of the pandemic spreading. Bosnia already had 27 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

The order concerns all establishments which serve food and drinks, hookah bars, discos, sports facilities, museums, theatres, concert halls, art galleries, cinemas, swimming pools, spas and fitness centres.

Businesses that deliver food, as well as soup kitchens and hotel restaurants, are excluded but must follow strict operational rules.

“This is the first set of measures. We might expand them,” said the director of the FBiH Civil Protection Administration, Fahrudin Solak.“

These are strict measures. We had meetings with farmers and employers. This is all for the protection of the people,” he said.
