Bosnia's Civil Affairs Ministry initiated a procurement procedure for four medicines that proved the most successful in the treatment of Covid-19, the Ministry said Thursday.

The Ministry said they received the list of needs from the Federation and Republika Srpska entities as well as the Brcko District for the following medicines: Remdesivir, Hydroxychloroquine, Kaletra (lopinavir/ritonavir) and Interferon. The list was then submitted for further procedure, they added.

The procurement was made possible thanks to the preparatory phase for the signing of the EU Joint Agreement on Public Procurement of Medical Devices, after the European Commission confirmed the reception of the letter of intent from the Bosnian government and thus placed Bosnia in an accelerated procedure group, the Civil Affairs Ministry noted.
