The prime minister of Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) region congratulated engineers of an auto industry company in the northern town of Gradacac for constructing the first Bosnian ventilator.

Medical equipment is hard to get at the global market since the coronavirus pandemic has gripped the world and the waiting lists are too long, so Bosnians decided to build their own.

“I congratulate the engineers of the TMD Group (…) I congratulate the doctors at the Tuzla University Clinical Centre who participated in this project. I hope that the Bosnian ventilator passes all the necessary tests, so that it is of service to the health care system of Bosnia and Herzegovina on time,” Fadil Novalic said.

He said he always trusted in the project, adding, “we always created technological miracles in Gradacac during the war for the Army, why would we not be able to build what our doctors need?”

The FBiH Prime Minister also urged other companies that can build medical equipment and contribute.

“Such projects are of vital interest for our health care system and they (companies) can count on the support of the FBiH Government,” he said.
