European Union (EU) member states have approved the provision of three billion euros of macro-financial assistance to ten countries in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The European Commission (EC) said a financial aid package for the ten countries was approved to limit the impact of COVID-19 on their economies.

The (EC) statement said that, according to that decision, Bosnia and Herzegovina will receive €250 million in aid.

Other countries covered by the proposal are Albania, which will receive €180 million in aid, while assistance for Georgia will be €150 million, Jordan €200 million, Kosovo €100 million, Moldova €100, Montenegro €60, Northern Macedonia €160, and €600 million for Tunisia.

The largest aid worth €1.2 billion will go to Ukraine.

The European Parliament is expected to approve this aid package.
