Bosnia was among the first countries to show solidarity with Italy at the hardest moments of the epidemic, ambassador Nicola Minasi said Wednesday as he handed over a donation in respiratory masks to Health Minister of Bosnia's Federation entity, Vjekoslav Mandic, saying that this is the moment for Italy to show back its solidarity through a dedicated and integrated programme.
The aid consisting of 200 respiratory masks will be distributed to hospitals across the FBiH, one of two Bosnia's regions, according to the Health Ministry's statement.

“We highly appreciate the support to our country, especially taking into account that this donation comes during a very difficult situation in Italy,” minister Mandic said, adding that Covid-19 caused huge consequences in both countries and the rest of the world.
“On the other hand, this pandemic showed the importance of unity and solidarity among all peoples and nations, as well as the necessity of being united in the battle against the virus. In that context, the citizens and institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina demonstrated the solidarity with Italy through many activities, at difficult moments of the fight against Covid-19,” he added.
During the meeting, Ambassador Minasi announced the arrival of two Italian doctors who will work with the United Nations’ and the World Health Organization's offices in Bosnia and will directly cooperate with local authorities through visits to hospitals across the country and exchanging their experiences.
“We're in this together, we're stronger together and I believe everything will get better soon,” he said.
