The declarations on the boxes of 40 ventilators the United Arab Emirates donated to Bosnia indicate that they are the same kind as the those that arrived from China in April and are, according to experts, not adequate for Covid-19 treatment.
If judged by the declarations, the ventilators that arrived in Bosnia are models ACM812A, produced by Aerospace ChangFeng Medical.

A Bosnian company that runs a Raspberry farm in the eastern town of Srebrenica won a government contract to procure 100 such ventilators for 10.5 million Bosnian Marks (some 5.3 million Euros) in April and the tender procedure is currently subject to investigations by prosecutors and police.
As part of the investigation, experts found that those ventilators “did not even meet the minimum characteristics necessary for the adequate treatment of patients in intensive care units, among which are Covid-19 patients.”
Apart from the 40 ventilators, the 20-tonne donation from the UAE which arrived in Bosnia on Wednesday includes 100,000 coronavirus tests, 5,000 protective suits, 150,000 pairs of gloves, 150,000 N95 masks, 50,000 face visors and 20,000 protective glasses said Bosnia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bisera Turkovic.
She could not confirm whether the ventilators that arrived are the same as the ones that were determined to be inadequate.
