PDP: Nobody paid more in the region for ventilators than Bosnia's RS entity did

According to Bosnian Serb opposition politicians, nobody paid more for ventilators in the region than authorities in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity did and once this comes to light, it will be a much bigger scandal than the one that emerged in the other semi-autonomous region involving the procurement of Chinese ventilators.
According to politicians from the Party for Democratic Progress (PDP), authorities in the RS purchased 50 ventilators for more than 7,85 million Bosnian Marks. Each ventilator, model VG 70, cost 157,000 Bosnian Marks, or 134,000 excluding VAT.
The alleged purchase was made through the RS Health Insurance Fund and the contract was awarded to the Banja Luka-based company Medietik d.o.o.
“This was definitely the most expensive (purchase of ventilators),” said PDP leader Branislav Borenovic, adding that it is a “record in the region.”
According to the PDP, data submitted to a Parliament procurement inquiry committee says that Medietik bought those ventilators for a nearly three times lower price and paid little more than 2,97 million Bosnian Marks for them.
PDP lawmaker Drasko Stanivukovic asked whether this “crime” could have been committed by Bosnian Serb Presidency member Milorad Dodik, who is also the leader of the ruling Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) in the RS.
He said that the owner of the company in question is the husband of Dodik’s advisor, Ana Trisic Babic.
N1 tried to contact Medietik but, whoever was on the line, hung up.
The RS Health Insurance Fund said that it will soon issue a statement regarding the allegations and that all of its procurements can be seen on its website - which says that the Fund conducted five procurement procedures involving Medietik.
