Bosnia's Islamic Community convened an emergency session Tuesday where they decided to provide approx. €50,000 for the purchase of medical aid in Sandzak, a Serbian region mostly populated by Bosniaks which has been overrun by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Islamic Community noted.
The funds will be given to Bosnian medical teams soon to depart to this southern Serbian region, in an effort to help the local doctors and nurses who got ill themselves.
The Islamic Community headed by Grand Mufti Husein Kavazovic also decided to collect donations in all mosques, religious schools and centres in the country and the diaspora with the aim of helping the people of Sandzak in the fight against the pandemic.
