Lebanon has been facing so many problems over the last several months and this is like throwing an atomic bomb on top of it, Lebanese journalist Habib Battah told N1 a day after the massive explosion in the capital Beirut, which left at least 100 people dead.
The country like Lebanon is relying on import but its major port, “the vein of economy,” is now gone, stressed Battah, warning that the already poor economy is facing further significant loss.
With the major port destroyed and three hospitals demolished in the explosion, the prices of goods going up and the Covid-19 crisis, the situation is likely to get worse in Lebanon no matter how bad it already looks like, warned the journalist.
